Edna Serene Sundet Lindberg was born April 24, 1921 to Olaf and Gunvor Sundet in Poplar, WI.  She went home to heaven on June 13th, 2017 at the age of 96.  Edna grew up on a dairy farm in NE WI near Superior.  She married Harold after WWII on April 24th, 1947.   Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her 4 siblings and her beloved Harold.  She is survived by her 3 children, Marcia Newkirk (Michael), Patricia Ennor (Gary), and Thomas Lindberg (Sandi).  She had 9 grandchildren, Chris, Matthew, Jonathan, David, Scott, Sophia, Amy, Alex and Marie.  She had 18 great grandchildren.

Edna was a loving wife and mother to her family as well as to her extended family.  She was a woman of faith.  She loved God and her church and served in multiple capacities at the Minneapolis Gospel Tabernacle for 50 years.   She had many friends and both family and friends found a pot of coffee and her willingness to drop what she was doing and give a listening ear to whoever dropped by.

In her spare time Edna would garden, knit, and crochet.  When her daughters were young she made most of their dresses.  She was a good example of a Proverbs 31 woman who cares for her household and is industrious.  Proverbs 31:30." Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is greatly to be praised."

The last 4 years Edna spent at Hillcrest Raleigh and the family would like to thank the nursing staff, rehab and the activity department for their attention and loving care of her.  She was content and comfortable there and we are thankful.

Arrangements under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home at Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh, NC.
